Managing activities

Switch activity views, review task details, schedule farm operations and create prescription plans.

Activity views

The Activities interface offers two distinct ways to visualize your farm's workflow: Spread View and Plan View. While both display the same underlying data, they are designed for different administrative needs—one focusing on flat-list data management and the other on strategic grouping.

Controls and fields

  • View Toggle: Use the switch in the top-right corner to flip between Spread View and Plan View at any time.
  • Action Toolbar: Available in both views to Complete, Duplicate, or Export or Share selected activities.
  • Plan Headers (Plan View Only): These sections group activities by their recommendation and show how many tasks are inside.
  • No Prescription Plan: A dedicated section in both views (though more prominent in Plan View) for ad-hoc tasks like "Test" or "Soil Sample" that aren't tied to a formal plan.
  • View Plan Details: Found only in Plan View, this button opens the high-level strategy and soil data behind a specific group of tasks.

How to use it

Using the Spread View for Efficiency

  • Customize Data: Click Columns to show only the info you need, like "Product Applications" and "Target Date".
  • Bulk Update: Select multiple checkboxes and click Complete in the top toolbar to clear your "Planned" list quickly.
  • Manage Rows: Click the three dots (⋮) on a specific row to Edit, Duplicate, or Delete an individual task.

Using the Plan View for Strategy

  • Expand Plans: Locate a header like "Recommendation Spring 2026" to see all tasks associated with that specific nutrient strategy.
  • Verify Progress: Check the Activity Count on the header to see how much of a seasonal plan is still "Planned" versus "Completed".
  • Analyze Strategy: Click View Plan Details on a header to review the original recommendation notes from your advisor or the system.

Notes and tips

Tip: Use Spread View when you need to find a specific task across the whole farm regardless of the season.
Tip: Use Plan View when meeting with stakeholders to show exactly how a specific "Spring" or "Regenerative" plan is progressing.
Note: Regardless of the view, the "App is ready to work offline" indicator confirms your changes will sync once you have a connection.

Spread View or Plan View

Spread View

  • Layout: A continuous, spreadsheet-style list of all tasks.
  • Best for: Bulk editing, filtering and technical data review.
  • Organization: Chronological or custom-sorted by columns.
  • Key element: Individual activity rows for granular control.

Plan View

  • Layout: A grouped hierarchy based on specific plans.
  • Best for: Tracking seasonal goals and recommendation progress.
  • Organization: Activities nested under Prescription Plan headers.
  • Key element: Plan headers showing activity counts and strategy details.

Activity details

The Activity Detail side-panel provides a comprehensive breakdown of a specific task's metadata. It serves as the primary interface for reviewing the specific "what, where, and when" of a farm action, including the activity type, scheduling history, and precise field instructions.

Controls and fields

  • Activity Type Section: Displays the high-level category (e.g., Practice) and the specific sub-type (e.g., Seeding).
  • Assignment & Scheduling:
  • Assigned to: Identifies the team member responsible for the task.
  • Target date: The scheduled date for the activity.
  • Executed by: The person who performed the work.
  • Completed on: The final timestamp of when the task was finished.
  • Activity Details Section:
  • Description: A general summary of the task.
  • Instructions: Precise technical guidance for field staff, such as application rates or specific soil conditions.
  • Zone Location: Displays the specific Management Zone (e.g., Zone 126) where the activity occurs.
  • Edit Mode Toggle: Located at the top right, this switch unlocks all fields for modification.
  • Close Button: Found at the bottom left to exit the detail view and return to the main table.

How to use it

  • Accessing Details: Click on any activity name or row from either the Spread View or Plan View to slide out the detail panel.
  • Reviewing Tasks: Scroll through the sections to verify the Activity Type and Zone Location before heading into the field.
  • Updating Information:
  • To change a date or person, toggle Edit Mode in the top right.
  • Once the fields become interactive, update the necessary information.
  • Closing the View: After reviewing or editing, click the green Close button at the bottom left to return to the Activities list.

Notes and tips

Tip: If a task is marked as "Not assigned," use Edit Mode to designate a team member so they receive the task on their schedule.
Tip: Use the Instructions box to provide context that might not be in the automated plan, such as "Wait for the dew to dry before starting".
Warning: Always verify the Zone Location at the bottom of the panel to ensure you are documenting work for the correct field.

Create an activity

The Create Activity wizard is an interactive tool designed to help you schedule and detail your farm operations. Whether you are logging your own actions or setting plans for an agronomist, this interface ensures all critical data—from product application amounts to specific field locations—is captured in one place.

Controls and fields

  • Activity Basics:
  • Activity Name: A text field to name the task (e.g., "Agricultural Lime").
  • Activity Type Dropdown: Categorizes the task, such as "Crop Protection".
  • Assigned To: A dropdown menu to select the team member responsible for the task.
  • Target Dates: A calendar picker to schedule the operation for one or more dates.
  • Detailed Notes:
  • Description: A field for general task summaries.
  • Instructions details: A field for specific, actionable guidance for field staff.
  • Product Application (Dynamic Section):
  • Product Search: A searchable dropdown to select specific inputs (e.g., Roundup, Copper sulfate).
  • Amount & Unit: Input fields to define the precise rate of application (e.g., liters, kg).
  • + Add application: Allows you to add multiple products to a single activity.
  • Zone Selection: A checklist of management zones to specify exactly where the activity will take place.
  • Create Activity Button: Finalizes and saves the task to your farm schedule.

How to use it

  • Define the Task: Start by entering a clear Activity Name and selecting the appropriate Activity Type.
  • Assign and Schedule: Select a team member from the Assigned To list and choose the required Target Dates.
  • Add Product Specs:
  • In the Applications section, search for and select your product.
  • Enter the Amount and select the correct Unit (e.g., L/ha).
  • Click + Add if you need to include additional products in this same task.
  • Provide Context: Fill in the Description and Instructions fields to ensure the person executing the task has all the necessary details.
  • Target Your Fields: Scroll through the Zones list and check the boxes for every field where this activity applies.
  • Finalize: Review your entries and click Create Activity at the bottom right to add it to your plan.

Notes and tips

Tip: If you can't find a specific product in the search list, look for the "Can't find the product you want to use?" prompt for help adding new items.
Tip: You can schedule the same activity for multiple days at once by selecting several dates in the Target dates calendar.
Warning: Ensure you select the correct Unit for applications; an incorrect unit (e.g., kg vs. grams) can significantly impact your nutrient management results.

Create a plan

The Create Plan wizard is a multi-step tool that allows you to group several farm operations under a single strategic heading. This is ideal for building seasonal recommendations, such as a "Spring 2026" plan, where multiple activities like soil sampling and fertilization need to be managed as one cohesive unit.

Controls and fields

  • Step 1: Plan Naming:
  • Name Field: A text entry area to define the overall title of the plan (e.g., "Prescription Test").
  • Step 2: Activity Builder:
  • Activity Sidebar: A list view on the left where you can see all tasks currently added to this specific plan.
  • + Add Activity: A button to create a new task entry within the plan.
  • Activity Details: Standard fields to define the Name, Type (e.g., Fertilization), Assigned Personnel, and Target Dates for the specific task.
  • Fertilizer Applications: A dedicated button to + Add fertilizer application, allowing you to specify exactly which nutrients are required for this part of the plan.
  • Zone Selection: A searchable list of all management zones where this plan's activities will be carried out.
  • Navigation Controls:
  • Back/Next: Buttons at the bottom to move between the naming step and the activity building step.
  • Create Plan: The final green button to save the entire group of activities to your farm schedule.

How to use it

  • Initialize the Plan: Click + New Prescription Plan from the main Activities screen to open the wizard.
  • Name Your Strategy: In Step 1, enter a recognizable name in the Name field and click Next.
  • Build Your First Activity:
  • Enter the Activity name and select the Activity type (e.g., Fertilization).
  • Assign it to a team member and pick the Target dates.
  • Define Inputs: Click + Add fertilizer application to search for products and set the required amounts for this task.
  • Assign Locations: Scroll through the Zone list and check the boxes for every field that requires this specific treatment.
  • Add More Tasks (Optional): If the plan requires multiple steps (like a soil test followed by a fertilizer application), click + Add Activity in the sidebar to create the next task.
  • Finalize: Review the list of tasks in the sidebar and click Create Plan to save all activities simultaneously.

Notes and tips

Tip: Use the Search zones... bar in Step 2 to quickly find specific fields if you have a large farm with many management zones.
Tip: If you are planning for a future date, use the Show zones ending after filter to ensure you are only selecting active, relevant fields for that time period.
Note: Activities created through this wizard will automatically be grouped under the plan header when you switch to the Plan View on your main Activities screen.
