Farm Management
Add farms, invite growers, see shared farms, switch between growers
What Farm Management is
Farm Management is where agronomists and advisory organisations manage all their customer farms in one place. Open it with Farms in the side menu.
SoilBeat structures all data per farm: lab reports, management zones, field observations, recommendations and activities. On the Farms page you:
- add farms you advise
- invite growers to their own farm, and colleagues to help you
- see which growers have invited you to their farm
- switch from one grower to the next to see their data
A grower you invite only ever sees their own farm. Your other customers stay private.
Add a farm
Add a farm for every grower you advise. All their data will be organised under it.
- Click Farms in the side menu.
- Click Add new farm at the top right.
- Fill in the farm name.
- Set the location: search for the address, or pin the farm on the map. SoilBeat uses the location for local weather data.
- Choose the farming approach, for example conventional or regenerative.
- Optional: add details such as ownership and contact information.
- Save the farm.
Next steps
- Set up management zones for the farm, by uploading a lab report, importing field boundaries or drawing them yourself. See the Management Zones guide.
- Start adding data: lab reports, field observations and activities.
- Invite the grower (next section).
Invite a grower or colleague
Give the grower, or a colleague, access to a farm so you work in the same data. Advice you publish then lands straight in the grower’s Activities.
- Click Farms in the side menu.
- Find the farm and click Invite.
- Enter the person’s email address and send the invitation.
- The person gets an email and joins the farm when they accept.
No need to worry about privacy
- A grower you invite only sees their own farm.
- They never see your other farms or customers.
Follow your invitations
Every invitation shows its status:
- Pending: sent, not accepted yet
- Active: the person has access
- Revoked: access was removed
Remove access
Click Revoke next to the person. They lose access to the farm straight away. The farm and its data stay as they are.
Farms shared with you
Growers can also invite you to their farm. Those farms appear on the same Farms page.
- Click Farms in the side menu.
- Scroll down to Farm shared by. You see each farm with the name of the grower who shared it.
- Click Switch to farm to open it.
You work in a shared farm the same way as in your own farms.
Switch between farms
The Farms page is your switchboard: go from one grower to the next in one click. The farm marked Active is the one you’re looking at now.
From the Farms page
- Click Farms in the side menu.
- Many farms? Use the search bar to find one by name, owner or location.
- Click Switch to farm next to the farm you want.
From any page
- Click the farm selector at the top left, under the SoilBeat logo.
- Pick the farm you want to open.
Everything you see then belongs to that farm: lab reports, zones, observations, recommendations and activities.
Tips and common questions
Can a grower see my other customers? No. A grower only sees the farm they were invited to.
Who sees the advice I publish? Everyone with access to that farm. Published activities appear in the grower’s Activities, so they can carry them out and log them.
I invited someone, but they can’t get in. Check the status of the invitation. If it still says Pending, ask them to look for the email, including their spam folder.
Why does the location matter? SoilBeat uses it for local weather data, which shows up in Analytics next to your lab results.
